Take a tour of Palma Cathedral
A visit to Palma Cathedral is essential if you’re spending time in Palma de Mallorca. The cathedral is one of Europe’s tallest Gothic buildings, with the nave standing at 43.3metres tall. It took around 400 years to build this stunning cathedral!
To get the most out of your trip to Palma Cathedral we recommend taking a guided tour. With a guided tour of the cathedral, you’ll take a stroll around Palma old town before being shown inside. After the tour, you’ll also get the chance to visit the cathedral’s museum. The tours usually include access to the Episcopal Palace Museum too!
Visit the Royal Palace of Almudaina
Palma de Mallorca holidays wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Royal Palace of Almudaina. The palace is located right next to Palma Cathedral and overlooks the beautiful Bay of Palma. Some essential palace sights include the three grand rooms decorated with period pieces and tapestries.
You’ll also see the Courtyard of Honour, Arabic baths, and the Gothic Hall used for festivities and hosting ambassadors.
Essential Info: The Royal Palace of La Almudaina is open Thursday to Sunday, 10am to 7pm. You can get free access to the palace on Wednesday and Sunday between 5pm and 7pm.
Spend your Palma de Mallorca holidays at the beach
A trip to Mallorca should definitely include spending some time on the sunny shores of Palma! The Cala Figuera is an all-natural, mostly rocky beach by mountains. With clear water and stunning views, this beach is the perfect spot to kick back and relax for the day.
There is also the beautiful beach Playa del Mago, which is one of the wildest natural beaches in Palma. It was on these white sandy shores that the film The Magus was shot with Micheal Caine and Anthony Quinn, so it’s a great spot for the movie buffs! This beach is also more suited for families than Cala Figuera, as it’s much easier to get to.
Catamaran tours are essential for Palma de Mallorca holidays
If you’re in Palma de Mallorca, why not enjoy sailing on the Mediterranean Seas on a catamaran? Take a relaxing cruise across the port of Palma and beyond to soak up the Mallorca sights from the water.
On a catamaran tour, you can also take a dip into the cool waves. There are snorkeling options available too, to allow you to get up and close with the underwater wildlife. While onboard you’ll be able to order a hearty meal to keep you going throughout the four-hour tour.
Have a cocktail in one of Palma’s brilliant bars
When in Palma enjoying the nightlife is a must. With a range of great bars to choose from, there’ll be something to suit everyone’s tastes.
The Hotel San Francesc Rooftop Terrace is perfect for enjoying a drink with a view. Known as one of the swankiest hotels in Palma, the Hotel San Francesc is perfect for a classy night out.
If you’re looking for something more chilled out there’s the Sky Lounge at Hostal Cuba. In the Sky Lounge, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the stunning Palma sights. It’s worth noting that the Sky Lounge fills up quite quickly and tends to be a busy bar.
